Elastix 2.3.0 is released!

Elastix 2.3.0 is now available; a new version with important improvements in the interface, security and performance, optimizing the usability on all tables and reports throughout the web interface, as well as the Asterisk, Dadhi, Wanpipe and CentOs versions were updated.

In this new version of Elastix, the Addons module has a complete redesign, making it easier to visualize all of the third party applications available for download.

For those developers who want to customize their Elastix, they will find in all grid-style modules the ability to modify and add multiple custom actions according to need.

Another important update in the distro is that now the rpms that handle hardware drivers are not directly linked to a kernel so you can upgrade to any kernel without creating any kernel incompatibility problems, this is due to the use of weak updates.

Among the new features available in this version are:
- Update to Asterisk 1.8.11.0-0
- Update to CentOS 5.7
- Update to Dadhi 2.4.1.2-10
- Update to Wanpipe 3.5.25-0
- Update to jquery 1.7.1
- New redesign of Addons module and improvements in the Calendar, Call Center, Fax, PBX, Reporting, Security and System modules
- Check filters in report tables

Elastix Beta with Asterisk 1.8 Available.

As Elastix announced at the end of April, we are launching today an update for Asterisk 1.8 in Elastix.
This update comes installed by default on 2.0.4-B4 our newest beta version of Elastix. There is an update available also for 2.0.3 version in the Elastix-Beta repositories, that can be can be activated at the Elastix Web Interface (System->Updates->Repositories).

This update is available for all users of that version who want to test this new launch.
Elastix 2.0.4-B4 also includes Dahdi 2.4.1.2
Among the features you will now find on Elastix are the following:
- Support for Secure RTP
- Support for IPv6
- Support for Google Talk and Google Voice

Elastix - Web Conference module now with video.

This week Elastix launching support for real time video in the “Web Conference” add-on, available for Elastix 2.0. This module has the ability to handle presentations, file sharing, conference calls, chat communication and video. All these features come integrated with each other and can be accessed through an easy-to-use interface.

This development, being launched now as a Beta, is part of a plan to boost the "Web Conference” add-on. We are working to include support for desktop sharing during the final quarter of this year.
